It's a pattern that is throughout nature: trees branches and roots, lungs, circulatory systems. Nature's way of 'spreading'.

The Mississippi River that I requested is the one in Ontario. I believe it too is a tributary of the Ottawa..I appreciate the Tay I go to Perth often and I see it winding its. Way through town. It's quite scenic.

Thanks for clarifying about the Mississippi River, Geoff. The Ontario Mississippi will be easier for me, since it's a lot smaller than the US one! And I have most of the data already!
